Move Over, It's the Law

Recently, many of my clients have been charged with Failure to Move Over. A majority of these clients were not aware this was an actual law. Most thought it was just common courtesy to slow down or move to a different travel lane when approaching an emergency vehicle on the side of the road.  “The law states that you’re to move over one lane or more, and if you cannot move over you need to reduce your speed,” says Master Patrol Officer John Alford of Fairfax County Police.
